My life feels similar to how my camera feels after my 3 yr old daughter gets my phone. A lot of the same, but there are minor differences…

I’ll wirte to catch up on the exciting and the mundane.

Aquaponics course:

I have begun my aquaponics course with Murray Hallam (not Steve Murray which I frequently get confused with 😊 sorry Steve). It is a blast, and I’m taking a lot of notes. For those who do not know… I plan to do a Fresh Organic Xpress drive up organic mart on my land while I wait for my olive trees to grow. I’ll grow whatever I can in this aquaponics area and sell it there. My Goal is to have the facility be a drive up and get organic local greens without leaving the comfort of your car. I know how much of a pain it can be with little ones in the car to get out just for a handful of produce.

Anyway, this course cost $1000 but after one week. I think it will save me that much, easily. I’ve posted my notes here if anyone wants to read them.

Foundation and home building:

Not much change here. My neighbor fought with the county again on Wednesday the 13th. Not successful with much there, but they turned in their soil report and $750 with the recommendation of a rock pad foundation (typical manufactured home foundation). If that comes back with no problems, I will save myself about $26000. I am hopeful. Here’s the remaining time on items:

  • Foundation (if approved) 2-4 weeks
  • Septic 4-6 weels
  • PGE 6-8 weeks.

Potentially, there could be a flurry of activity and I could get in to my home with power, sewer and water before April 30th. But that is rather unlikely. I will probably need the month of may too! But hopefully, we’ll get in this year and before school lets out. Just maybe.

Well that’s the news from near the Delta. Not many pictures this time, but more to come! I promise!
